Introduction Everyone has some idea of what they believe or do not believe. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist or agnostic. People that say they are driven by science or  empiricism alone are as deeply entrenched in faith as those that believe some other way. All have faith that what they believe has merit. You must either believe that a scientist or philosopher has gotten it right in order to hold any opinion. You must also believe your mind is capable of sorting it all out. There is a lot of Faith to go around and those that say they believe in Science to explain the universe etc must first admit they believe in Science etc based on Faith. Outside of direct cause and effect experiments there is only Faith. In my 49 years I have seen science (which I love) change its mind about the origin of the universe and theories revolving around that subject more times than I can count. Example of a question: Q: What is the difference between other world religions and Christianity? Can you boil it down to a simple answer? A: The difference between all world religions and false views of Christianity boils down to works versus faith. On the one hand you must do something in order to merit entrance into heaven. On the other hand you simply need to have faith that Jesus Christ did all the work for you to enter heaven. The essence of true Christianity is the freedom and humility that comes with accepting Jesus Christ’s life and sacrifice on the cross as your only means to enter heaven.

It is not in your control but God's. What we believe Genesis is the first. The word itself means "beginning" as all things must have a beginning. In logic it is called the "premise" or "postulate". The very premise of the Bible (66 books, not one) is to assert that "In the beginning God..." and then goes on to explain our existence. We believe God uses the Bible to explain our existence.
